Sometimes you have to work with what the draft gives you, though. Good coaches will win with the talent they have available to them.
I miss John Gruden
would you want Vontaze Burr-fict on your team?

Jackson seems like he'll be done soon. He's getting really old/expensive. Evans on the other hand is a total stud.

Is that a euphemism for "fired"?

Kind of. Apparently he wanted out because of his health issues so I think it is kind of a mutual thing, although I doubt Tampa is losing any sleep over him leaving.

So it looks like our QB next year will be one of the three, all of which I'm not too happy about:
Mariota
Winston
Cutler
:/

If the Bucs get the first overall pick (which they're slated to do now), they have to use that on a QB. You don't want to have to be in that position ever again, so take advantage of it while you can.

Thing is, just speaking to football ability, Winston is way better suited to come in and play right away. Mariotta could be great if he did what Aaron Rodgers did, but that won't happen. But all the off the field stuff with Winston worries me. And Cutler, ugh. I hope Lovie learned his lesson this year about bringing former Bears QB's in.

I dont know a whole lot about Mariota but he is who i hope the Bucs end up with this year.
i hate everything about Winston so im really hoping he doesnt end up as a Buc
i wanted Cutler when Tampa tried to get him a few years ago but not really now, obviously he is a prick and seems to not have a high enough football iq, i wouldnt be completely upset if they do give cutler a shot if they could get him for a 4th round pick or somehting, but the other thing i wouldnt be thrilled about is that cutler probably only has 5 more years at most left in him, and id rather have the possibility that the Bucs next QB could be there for 10+ years.
i also would not be shocked if RG3 is available and the Bucs consider him, i dont think i want him but it could happen

If, at the end of the season, Tampa ends with one of the top picks, I will cease to be a fan if the following happens:
They draft Jameis Winston.
I, being of sound mind, do swear to uphold this declaration as stated above.

Got to love message board declarations. The self-importance of it all is beautiful. Oh and no one will care.
Actually, I made this declaration to my family as well. Maybe I just have LV disease and am getting sick of football in general.
And spare me the lecture of a "true fan would do this" crap. I was a Buccaneers fan through the 80's and 90's.
Who said anything about a true fan? I sure as hell didn't. Making the declaration to your family as well sounds a lot better though. Nice soap box.

Growing up a bucs fan I hope they draft Winston. Its the player they need.

Of the three options that seem to be presenting themselves, I am starting to agree. Is it too late to amend my above soapbox statement to read " sign Jay Cutler"?

When I was at the Bucs game two weeks ago, nearly every single conversation I heard regarding who people wanted the Bucs to take centered around Mariota. You'd have thought Winston wasn't even a consideration.

Gator/Seminole trumps Black/White in Florida every day of the week.
Tampa is still Gator country to the bone.
