Hey guys! My long awaited review is finally here!

- Despite the distracting casting and clunky dialogue, I generally enjoyed this. One of his better movies.

- I was expecting another cold and sterile Nolan movie like Dunkirk or Tenet, but this surprisingly had some heart. It also isn't as preachy or heavy handed as Oppenheimer often was. Don't get me wrong. It's still Nolan, and his flaws are still here, but they are less obvious.

- His overall aesthetic isn't mine, but I thought he executed it fairly well, so I can appreciate it.

- Damon is a good, modern everyman Odysseus. I thought he was fine.

- The accents don't bother me (I've never been a fan of making actors in historical epics speak in stilted British accents), but some of the modern sounding dialogue did put me off.

- In this guilt ridden age, this guilt ridden movie is the only Odyssey that Hollywood can make, but after watching the awful The Return last night, this feels positively liberated. It wasn't overbearingly self loathing, which was a big relief.

- It got a lot of things right. It missed some things and added some unnecessary bits like the sea people and iron age, but it's throwing out a lot of ideas and I can forgive it for not getting everything right.

- I thought it was paced pretty well. Got sluggish towards the end, but the first couple of hours moved at a good pace.

- it's (perhaps unsurprisingly) sexless (another sign of the times) and in general it's too soft R, which holds it back I think.

- The armor is indeed terrible

- Nolan still can't film fight scenes for shit.

7.8/10 bags of popcorn
