Rumour has it that there are 2-3 headliners this year who may rotate the headline spot. 2 have never played an Australian festival. PJ have a link with the promoters after doing the Lolla SA tour too. And they will be available in Jan 2014. Sydney has two shows too.

Has there ever been an instance in the last few years where PJ has rotated the h/l spot at a festival in Europe? I know that they've done shorter sets but I'm not aware of them not headlining.

Also, the last few headliners have apparently been contractually restricted from doing any side shows. I really hope PJ aren't on the bill but I can't think of too many bands that are headline or semi headline material.

I'd suggest getting accustomed to it, I think it's quite likely.

I think Melbourne will probably get a sideshow, possibly Brisbane, not sure about Sydney however given they'll be doing two festival shows there already.

I have a good feeling I'm going to get blanked out in my effort to get 10c tix. We'll see how much I'm willing to spend on the scalpers. I'm hoping they'll have more U.S. dates in 2014. But, I imagine they'll be overseas.

So if they are doing BDO then we will know by July 31. I'm guessing 10C won't have tix for BDO but will they announce any side shows before BDO goes on sale (Aug 6ish)?

Doubtful.

I can't remember any previous timeframes exactly, but I think there's usually a delay between the festival going on sale and the confirmation of any additional shows. They risk losing festival ticket sales otherwise.

Brisbane and Melbourne will get sideys. Doubt Sydney. Adelaide and Perth no chance.

Not a chance, it's not how the BDO run things. No sideshows for headliners in Adelaide ever. It would completely eat the ticket sales for the festival.

There's usually an embargo placed on bands playing festivals. No other shows allowed within x amount of miles and x amount of time. That's global, not just Australia.
