Rock the Casbah is fairly well regarded in the world of Clash fanatics.

Now, if you'd picked Should I Stay or Should I Go I'd be biting my tongue in an effort not to say something mean...

Its a good song though.

Other than Tom Waits, my team is pretty hit heavy. But that'll shift a bit from here on out. Sort of.

I just meant too much of a hit in relation to the Clash discography....its kinda like taking Smells Like Teen Spirit. I kinda expect 10 other Nirvana songs will go before that one and I figured it would the same with the Clash. I figured wrong.
I'm surprised no one has given me shit about it yet. I expected folks to come out of the woodwork.
Chud will be along shortly.

How is Def Leppard not hair metal?

I do like that song, though.

Should I Stay or Should I Go is just so, so very terrible.

It's not terrible, it's just kinda dumb. I like the badly translated Spanish callbacks.

Yeah, I don't think it's terrible. It's a fun listen, but it doesn't mean much to me. But I like it as a fun little song.

The same way Van Halen, AC/DC, and Aerosmith aren't. They influenced the genre but were not part of it.

This quote made me laugh:
Elliott tells the Daily Record: "We used to get riled when people called us a hair metal band. If that's true, then so are Led Zeppelin." "It's a ridiculously stupid, lazy term from people who can't be bothered listening to the music because they're fans of REM or Tom Waits."

We should have another Clash tournament at some point. Here's a link to the last one. Why were we only drafting 5 songs each?

I'm still interested in the Motown tournament Lament was talking about.

Yeah, I'd like to do the Motown one at some point once all of these decades ones are over.

It was between this n rq for me.. since I saw my list last time I tried to change it up.. patience might be my favorite gnr tune but it's really close between 4 (those 2 n it's so easy.. ones still there).. actually there was one other gnr I almost picked, which I'll discuss later

Then I got older and decided that I knew everything about what music was supposed to be. This was stupid.

Then I got even older and decided that I don't know as much as I think I do and that this song did, in fact, help change the way people (white people, anyway) think about what music could be. And it is awesome.

RUN-DMC - Walk This Way
Fuck you stip. Run DMC must be represented in this tournament but this is the fucking song you go with?

Very nice! One of the top three BBoys tunes I was considering. You've made the choice a bit easier.
Just go with Shadrach and be done with it.

My manager would agree with my outrage.
