Do you guys only download lossless stuff? Is that why you use torrents?

Yeah why would I download lossy? If I need mp3s for smaller file sizes on my phone or something I just convert them myself.

Really, my question was directed at anyone except you.

It depends. Like chud, if it's just for my iPod, V0 MP3. But if it's something I'm planning on burning to a CD or for archival purposes, FLAC.

It just seems like if you're only downloading MP3s for everyday listening, a P2P option like Soulseek is so much less complicated than torrents.

Is it just easier at this point to pay 10 bucks a month to a streaming site like spotify??

I'm doing apple music again now that what is gone. It really is a great service and so reasonably priced, but the android app sucks.

My wife and I still have a Spotify account even with all the torrenting I do. But it's such a shitty app that I barely use it--but it's nice in a pinch if I don't have another digital music player with me.

A month or so after they've all popped up, I'd still say most of the new music trackers are having similar problems i.e. creating a healthy sharing economy. Unless you have oodles and oodles of content ready to upload, you'll probably just be jumping on freeleech torrents for a while to try and build up ratio on any tracker.
And which tracker would that be?
Both Apollo and PassTheHeadphones are fine. PTH seems to have a userbase more dedicated to quality, but that also means that most users have a big personal library from years on What and aren't downloading much. Apollo has had a few freeleech events and those have generated activity, but once they've ended things have gone dead.

For perspective: I have around 750 uploads on one tracker but only about 175 of them have been snatched at least one time. That never happened on What; I had over 1500 uploads and they were all snatched immediately.
If anyone has a spare invite to either, I'd appreciate it. I was a member of Oink, What, Waffles.
Still hoping for an invite bump.

Same here, would appreciate an invite to either site. Worked hard to maintain a solid ratio on What and ended up being a waste.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I'm 248th in queue. 1 to 2 hours per interview. 10 to 20 days before I'm up.

Does any of you guys with a vast collection happen to have a lot of Bob Seger? My dad is in search of a couple songs that he can't get on iTunes... Eastside Story and Persecution Smith.

They're actually interviewing people to get in now?

Jesus fucking christ!

Who do these assholes think they are? And why do you guys even bother?

You'll be in there for a week and they will ban you for using an astorice in a song title instead of a tilda.
