Who was it that made the Riot Act tour mix that completely excluded Cropduster? That was bullshit on a stick.

Wasn't pretentious. It was 9 vocal hymns for the 9 kids that died in roskilde.
Was at the first performce of it ever in San Diego. (Now that's pretentious) and it lost the crowd for about a minute then they locked in.

Wish they'd do more stuff like it. Pearl jam do meditative space out tunes really well.

I'll go further. Riot act would be a whole lot poorer for arc not being on it.

I took a lot of shit for hating on that song.

To me it was the beginning of the "Future Days" Ed and it made me want to throw up.

And I still think the "string keyboards" in the chorus sounds like Creed. I can totally picture Ed on a mountain top with his arms spread open wide.

Hated that one from day 1. It was the first time I heard a PJ song and thought "What is this crap?"
Track five of yield has that honour for me.

The entire S/T album has that honour for me, and still does. Talk about a steep decline. When people on regular forums declare that it "renewed their interest in Pearl Jam", I want to hit them with a 2X4.

I'll always like I am mine. In all PJ catalogue it has a safe good spot. There are far worse songs.

That's true, but it's still Ed's first solid foray into "dad rock schmaltz", and it will forever hold that distinction in my mind.

My first experiences with "I Am Mine" were the Bridge '01 and UCLA '02 performances, so whatever power-ballad-ish qualities the studio recording may possess weren't inherently built into the song's DNA for me. I still like it quite a bit.

Not sure you understand what dad rock is. Try unemployable for an actual example.
Status quo rocking all over the world horror
