If you can't see Ukraine as the hapless victim of the competing interests of an extremely powerful and extremely aggressive empire and it's much less powerful, reactive competitor, you're not going to make it. You're going to be swallowed up. Putin isn't some supervillain who woke up and decided to start invading Europe because he has dreams of ruling the world. Trump isn't "defending" Putin. If you think these things, you live in a cartoon.

Either you can recognize that Ukraine is a sovereign nation with a right to self-governance, self-guidance, and life that supersedes Russia’s right to dictate its neighbors fates…or you can’t.

This is a nation with a population of 44 million people. If your summation of their invasion in no way incorporates their own wants, hopes, and interests…reconsider.

Their wants, hopes and interests have little bearing on anything. They are unfortunate pawns of groups that have no interest in my (or Ukraine's) well being, and all the moralizing in the world isn't going to change that.

No, it’s just about Russia. Any Russian airline is banned, even if they just planned to fly to another country. Also any flight to or from Russia from those countries, or their airlines.

Canada joining the air-ban as well.

We're getting close to, "Ukrainians suffer from false consciousness" territory.

Maybe the current government is unworthy of its position, but its hard to see how it is worse than the last one.
