I go back and watch old games fairly often and I don't see a huge difference, and if anything a lot of times things look faster and more precise nowadays. I'm also fairly certain that the current pool of active players contains a possible GOAT candidate at most positions.
If you mean things like replays, replacement refs, games early in the season being rough, I can see that, but again, I think it's somewhat overstated. My main beef is the commercials and they've already had to scale them way back.
I don't think it is that bad either. Especially as the seasons goes on. I'm also tired of NFL coaches complaining about college players coming in lacking fundamentals. How bout teaching them?

Offensive line play in general has been terrible.
Lots of teams with bad O-lines. Even good teams like the Packers and Seahawks have weak O-lines that are eased a bit by great/smart QBs.

Also, too many "pass rushing" LBs who don't like to tackle.

The O-line thing is absolutely true, I have to admit. The coaches all say it's due to the position not being coached correctly in college, but some teams seem to have made it their last priority, which might have more to do with it.

Clay Matthews is the single most frustrating player to watch in the NFL. Dude goes out of his way to get "washed up" in the line so he doesn't have to tackle someone who's not the quarterback.
Compare him to someone like Sean Lee and it fucking laughable. Yet, Matthews is in every commercial on TV.
But, hey, people love their white NFC North LBs.

Yeah Clay hasn't been good for a while. The Packers arguably got more advertising juice out of their SB run than any other recent team, its kinda crazy.

on the 'NFL ratings are down' issue, I def feel in my personal experience I watch less bc the quality of play has declined. There are so many shit QBs out there. The college spread offense is killing the pro game. And there have also been too many stoppages and ticky tacky bullshit officiating things that make it annoying. But really the problem is that athleticism started superseding skill. The NFL needs to lobby for changes to the college game to promote real QB-ing again. And the NFLPA needs to get rid of some of those rules that prevent players from practicing with their coaches/team in the offseason ... what other employment opportunity out there forbids you from working hard for/with your employer outside of work hours if you want to? stupid.

I'd be in favor of a tiered system where younger players have more practice time allowed and it can scale down for veterans. I think that is one area where the current CBA screwed some younger guys coming in, because they're just never going to develop.

Can we talk about how completely idiotic and ridiculous that personal foul call on Viller Miller was? Shit like that is why people get frustrated with the league.

He wasn't ruled down (the whole reason for the run off), the play was ruled a touchdown initially, clock was not stopped for review until there were 8 seconds left.
