Black Ops
Black Ops II
People play COD campaigns?
I haven't played any on this gen, but I enjoyed the campaigns on the previous consoles.

Yeah, regardless of how people may feel about the new ones, those first two MW campaigns are stone-cold classics. I just replayed MW remastered and was blown away by how that thing holds up.

I've never enjoyed a COD or Halo campaign - those were always about sitting in a lounge with buddies getting drunk and shooting each other.

Steam sale's now on - Doom is 67% off so that's a definite buy for me. Considering Cities: Skylines and possibly Deus Ex (50% off).

I still recall the general layout of many of those levels and I haven't played it 6 or 7 years.

I don't think I've played the single player of a pure FPS since Half Life 2. When everything started being more multiplayer focused, I kinda lost interest in the genre. Doom's single player is supposed to be really good though, so I'm looking forward to it.

Far Cry 4's single player was tops

There are still plenty of good campaigns out there.

What didn't you like about BF1's controls, LV?

I dunno exactly. The sensitivity was totally wonky to the point where I could barely aim the gun. It was bizarre. I messed with sensitivity and settings and nothing helped, so I just gave up.

That is odd. Was it a lag issue? I know the guns in that game are a little less sophisticated on purpose.

I prefer the Battlefield controls to CoD. A little more weight to them.

Interesting. That wonky sensitivity, having a tough time controlling the gun and whatnot, is exactly what I love about this game. Feel ultra-realistic given the time period, and helps a casual gamer like myself stand a chance...

BF1's controls are like a mid-80s pick-up truck, with a lot of give and drift; COD controls are like a Ferrari: super tight and responsive. I prefer the former, but can see why you'd like the latter.

Yeah this sounds right. That's exactly why I don't like it. "Realistic" is one of the biggest red flags to me when it comes to gaming.

I think it sounds amazing in theory. I'd love to try it.

Didn't play it, looks fairly boring after FC4.

Heard good things. Seems like a great deal for $15.
