It was beyond the pale to donate to a legal fund for a case that probably should have never gone to trial.

Unfortunately for donors, the earlier 'official' fund was absconded with by Lin Wood, but thats Rittenhouse's mom's fault.

Generally speaking, if you feel like you can read the judge’s worldview enough from his conduct during this trial to suspect that opposing worldviews is Peeps’s issue, that’s subpar.

Worldview aside, he said that magnifying an image is “adding data” to it and therefore unreliable, so that’s pretty weird for a person regularly presiding over criminal trials.

Personally, my experience with judges is that a large percentage of them are absolute geezer morons with a clear preferential lean in many trials, so his stupidity seems like a rather ordinary display of a broader, possibly national problem….not something unique to Rittenhouse.

Agreed. They should be like referees in a football game. You shouldn’t be able to detect bias, and if you feel like you can, then yeah, that’s a problem.

That said, detecting bias can kinda depend what side you’re on. Can’t it?

i dont care if he agrees with my world view or not but he should not being doing so many things that are outside the normals of justice

It’s being reported over here that the judge is openly biased as fuck and possibly unhinged.

He was yelling at the prosecutor, without the jury out the room, for trying to introduce evidence he had already ruled inadmissible and that was a violation of rittenhouse's 5th amendment rights. Twice. It appeared the prosecutor was trying to induce a mistrial several times on Tuesday so it's kinda understandable the judge was getting erratic. The videos of the ADA talking back to the judge are pretty insane for a literally deadly serious matter.

But it's also pretty clear he's being set up as the scapegoat in the media, rather than reporters making any serious attempt to understand what the law is and recognize... and people may want to sit down for this... the prosecution has to prove guilt, the defense doesn't have to prove innocence. The burden is entirely on the state and there's a reason the DA passed on the case.
