I don't think I've seen Sleepy Hollow since the OG theatrical run. I remember being pretty underwhelmed but it's not like I remember hating it. Just kinda bummed.

I had a light work day today and no housework to do, so I watched 3 movies today -

The Silence of the Lambs - a masterpiece. Brilliantly cast, everyone is great. Love the pov shots. Clarice's lamb monologue might be my favorite scene in any movie.

Frenzy (72) - enjoyed this late Hitchcock movie more than I expected. I love the setting of 70s London. Some great haircuts and accents. Pretty grim, but also surprisingly funny.

Frankenstein (31) - a classic tragedy. I love the old sets. A strong performance from Karloff. The invisible man remains my favorite Universal monster movie (I haven't seen Dracula yet)

The Apprentice is a pretty good movie, I think. Jeremy Strong turns in a very Strong performance. Good performances all around really. And it has a good style to it. 7.8/10, recommend it.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (78)

Fantastic. Really grim, great premise, some really cool effects and great performances. Loved it.

I have no interest in this,but it's nice to see Jeremy Strong getting work. I really think he's underappreciated.

My Dad got me into Hitchcock a couple of years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I have all 3 volumes of the Hitchcock collection on 4k (as well as assorted Blu-Rays)and I'm slowly working my way through them.

I think my favorite so far is Vertigo, but it's hard to choose.

I spent a summer of my youth renting every single Hitchcock film, thankfully most from the library, along with what I could find of Hitchcock Presents... just adore them all but some really could use a revisit soon.

Paranoiac - a very enjoyable psychological thriller. Interesting to see Oliver Reed playing against type as a drunk asshole.

God I love Paranoiac so much. Top shelf Hammer, great Sangster script. Something special happens when Freddie Francis works in B&W.

Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara.

I mean, its engaging. Nothing quite new really about how toxic fans are and how internet has become a pretty awful place for everyone. I never listened to a song from this duo so i dont know shit about them, but i was moved by poor JT who had to wait they made a film to actually get a response from the singer herself.

Check out Flight of Dragons. Same people made it. Loved it as a kid. Not sure if it holds up.

The Safdie bros.' Heaven Knows What. I didn't love watching it yesterday but it really stuck with me. Mostly a true story based on the book written by and starring the lady who lived it, a very realistic portrait of a group of heroin addicts on the streets of New York city. You can smell the filth and feel the desperation very clearly, but there's also plenty of levity to counterbalance the horror. I admire what the movie accomplished. I'm kind of in awe of it right now.

gotta watch Uncut Jim again now. These Safdie Bros. are something else. Whew.
