yep, putting it above the last 2 albums is pretty easy, if it will pass anything else will take a while to know
To be honest, that is already an achievement I really wasn't expecting. So I'm happy.
i am always hopeful for great stuff, but i tried to keep my expectations way down, even though i told everyone it would be great

I expected this one to be Backspacer 2: Moar Punchy.

I'm very glad I was wrong.

It's good. BoB Cheesewizz keeps it from being great.

Jesus was more like 33, Burt.

Though to be fair his final 10 years were mostly seen as embarrassing, at the time, except to a very few fanclub members.

The big question. For me at least.

Will anyone ever listen to backspacer ever again??

Found myself wanting to put on GSMF right after Getaway.

I almost quit the album when I heard Getaway.

With the knowledge that the rest of the album is not Backspacer, this song has gotten better.

Expectations are a funny thing.

The orchestration on "The End" is a fuck-ton better than the schmaltz plastered all over Future Days. That's the single thing making me pine for Backspacer. I don't miss "Johnny Guitar" but that's because "Getaway" is much better. I do quite like "Got Some" and "Speed of Sound." I'm annoyed that SoS is so full of BoB Cheese but still sounds better than FD. That FD keyboard is criminal. It sounds like deliberate sabotage, and I can only enjoy it by making excuses for it.

no I'm only 7 years into my career and I'm already producing crap, except for my collaboration with that guy on the Billy_Billy_Microp_nis cover.

Which was exemplary, I must say.

So apparently Boom played keyboard on the album as well.

I'm guessing he plays in the tasteful parts.

It's so weird to me that you prefer Boom's playing and call it "tasteful". Dude almost always sounds like he's playing with his elbows.

For me, the real ride of the album starts tommorrow. With the stream I can't experience it like I do all my other records, where I can skip around, listen to certain parts at will. Most importantly, I can listen in my car, or when biking or jogging, or at work. Then, I can naturally get into certain songs, put other songs on the shelf for awhile, and then find other songs to discover. Right now, the songs I'm going to go straight to are the first 7 songs, and then the last two. I'll probably skip around out of order and repeat ones I'm digging more. I'll shelve LTRP for a while, not sure where Swallowed Whole and SBM will fit either. Right now, on early listen, I see it going to the middle of the pack, which is very satisfying. I'm a Backspacer lover, I love slipping that one on and having a 38 min joyride, for my work commute back and forth. That's hard to beat.
