Enjoyed it until the final act. I dont think my wife was super into Qualley’s performance
Why not? Too hot?
Yeah, she said it went from satire to porn. I had no such objection

Me neither. I remember thinking “I should see this again “

…Clint, I love you, but you should have gone out on Cry Macho. That was a perfect swan song.

Small Things Like These
I enjoyed it so much, I bought the book (which I'm also enjoying)
I rewatched Anatomy of a Fall with my partner and my parents, and it made me cry in front of everyone, it's a winner

I didn't realize Small Things Like These was out already...
Also, so happy you're reading the book. I know you sometimes struggle with prose, but all of Claire's stuff is so worth it.

it's a small book, a novella I think? I wouldn't have gone for it if it didn't seem quite concise (like the movie tbh)

It's amazing. I love all of her work. If you like STLT, I highly recommend Foster as well. Just perfect little novellas.

Slow West. One of the worst westerns I've ever seen. Couldn't finish. "Modern" writing...

I have this on my 40 last movies of 2022 list that I’m watching in the upcoming weeks.
However, so far today, I’ve watched a few Christmas movies instead.

Elf - Also Wonderful

It definitely has its preachy moments crudely jammed in with no regard to the story or themes, but the worst thing is the lead being so intensely hateble. I was begging for him to die in the worst way possible. He's like whatever the male version of a manic pixie dream girl is. Kind of an autistic simp that wouldn't last a day in the world of the movie.
I looked up the reviews and they are shockingly high. Truly, standards have dwindled down to nothing.
Also watched Manhunter. Pretty cool.
