Kaprizov.

The end.

Geezes everything he does is amazing. He's playing pond hockey as if its no big fucking deal out there.

Highlight reel. But its also the little things. This kid has eyes in the back and sides of his head. Geezes he truly is going to be one of the greats.

I could understand a charge, but I don't agree with the major.

I could see charging or boarding but major is overkill

i am shocked that refs do/dont call penalites based on the individual games and not the rules per the rulebook

Unexpected move, Donny.

Let's see how it goes.

In any other year I'd say a boost to Boston's offense, which has been bad, but Hall looks lost this year and it's not clear if that's just a Buffalo-induced phenomena.

Leafs are all-in, it seems.

I think the Foligno trade is a clear overpay from Toronto, but I'm also completely ok with it because he seems like such a perfect fit for the team. They have all the game-changing pieces in place, so they're at a point where adding the right pieces is really important.

It was a nice deadline for them. Foligno up front, Rittich as some goltending depth, and Hutton as an insurance plan on defense.

Yeah it reminds me a lot of Tampa's deadline deals last year--depth pieces that really round out the team. Toronto for me is now the clear favorites to come out of the North bracket, would not want to face them in the playoffs.

Toronto going so all in was a surprise. I just can't see them beating who ever they meet up in the finals and I don't think they can beat Washington if they meet them in semis.

I think Toronto struggles with, say, Vegas and Colorado, but the North is theirs, which means they at least make it to the Cup semis. IIRC at that stage the entire bracket is re-seeded so they could play any of the other three teams, no?

I'm not sold on Washington at all, I could easily see them losing in the first round and I'm bullish on the Islanders to come out of that division, but then again I haven't watched too many of their games.

Weird to have a year where league-wide points make a difference in playoff seeding, but it should probably always be this way. Too often there are marquee matchups in the semi-finals.

No love for Florida?
I still think Tampa is the team to beat overall.
Edmonton vs. Toronto for 7 games would be fun, no?
I just realized I forgot about Colorado...

This should be a fun playoffs (is it said plural like this?)

While the Bruins looked messy in their shootout win last night, they showed promise and now can put out 4 good lines for the first time in a long time. Gives me some hope for the playoffs.

If only we could have such confidence in the D and goalie.

I'm very impressed by both Florida and Carolina, I don't have any confidence that Tampa is going to get out of the Central. Florida with Ekblad hurt is a different team, though, and you never know when the Bob is going to fall apart. Also Tampa should get Kucherov back for the playoffs, which is just downright unfair.

Also, Boston is only four points up on the Rangers, though they do have two games in hand, so even though the Flyers are done the B's being-in-the-playoffs status isn't exactly guaranteed.
