I caught myself a-humming
This bad ass song's main riff
And if the's people saying "boring"
They might as well jump a cliff ah yeah yeah!

I'm probably one of the biggest haters of post-Riot Act PJ, but I have to admit I am still enjoying this song. Definitely a far cooler lead off single and album vibe going on than Fixer/BS. Still doesn't have that "PJ feel" that I love about Ten -> Riot Act, but MYM has me optimistically hoping that this album will have a new feel that I will enjoy.

8 weeks at radio, now. It's spin numbers continue to be strong (2,829 plays this week, down from 3,114 three weeks ago), but it's audience is shrinking fast. It had an estimated audience size of 7.62 million this last week, which is down nearly one million from the week before (which itself was down, etc.).
Essentially, more and more stations are moving it to overnight hours as they get ready to drop it from their playlists.
Total plays so far: 22,139....about 13,000 fewer than World Wide Suicide, but 7,000 more than Life Wasted and triple what Amongst the Waves managed.

I can imagine digging the hell out of this song if it came on loud in a bar.

This was played here at a local bar too.
And I'm in Tijuana.
And I wanted to buy everyone a round.

Yeah - still no proper radio play in the UK>
I imagine the record will be ignored in the same way Binaural and Riot Act were by the commercial media.

And in the end, that could be the best thing about it. I'm fed up of the media trying to get interested, as if it's some obligation. It's OK Zane Lowe, really, you can just concentrate on the cool stuff; your excitement looks fake.

Remarkably, this was the biggest week that the single has had so far on the Active Rock charts. Even though it's headed south on other formats, it remains at #2 for the third week in a row on Active, with more than 1,800 plays from those stations alone.

Still a great song and the most concrete evidence we have that the new album might be something.

what bands/types of music tend to be played on the active format?

I didn't know Soundgarden had released 'Halfway There'. That's interesting.

I watched this again. If we're not going to get Eddie talking about the meaning of the song i think this is pretty clever

part of me wants to laugh when I see soundgarden, pearl jam, stone temple pilots, and alice in chains on the same chart in 2013.
part of me wants to cheer, though

Just in case what i meant isn't clear. The footage of the tapes made me curious and about the same amount of MLB and PJ tapes are featured in the vignette.
