Wife has the day off so we’re taking the kid to the zoo. Maybe lunch somewhere after.

Good luck navigating around all of the people that don't know how to walk around in an orderly fashion!

I assume keep right over there? I can never understand why people here can't keep left as a golden rule. What side of the road do you drive on? That's the side you stand on. It's not hard.

oh man the STL Zoo is a goddamn mess that way, unless you go on a weekday. WAYYY less crowded. Shit drove me crazy last time. I kept my cool though.

my wife's plane is delayed about 2 hours as of now...I'm thinking about surprising her at the airport with a bag of arbys

I let my kid run rampant to keep those wandering fucks on their toes. The stroller moms too.

No elephants at this zoo, and didn’t see the hippos out. However, it was the first day they let the lion cubs run around outdoors, and one of the polar bears was right on the other side of the glass pacing. Those guys are always hiding.

went to the beach early today, was amazing weather for the first few hours. brought the fishing pole, nothing was out there but still fun to cast a few. scooped up a few shrimp by the rocks, were a decent size, like 2-3 inches. an osprey flew overhead with a giant fish that it caught. couldnt tell what kind. but it was big, prob like 16-18 inches... big for a bird to be carrying anyway... pretty sure i saw a whale out there. massive water spray, way out. not a lot of boats out there today. could not think what else would have been. looked like a water jet

pool was opened and spent the requisite X hours afterward setting up the polaris, backwashing, brushing, removing debris, repositioning the swim basketball hoop. while i was backwashing the filter, all the sudden i see this silhouette appear in a filter window that leads into the pump. it's a goddamn gigantic frog. poor bastard, god knows how long he was in the pool. was covered all winter - got sucked into a filter, through the pipes, and almost made it into the main pumping equipment. suffice it to say the frog was not alive. i had to unscrew the lid of this window thing and get him out. was unpleasant. felt bad for him

my neighbor has a ton of huge trees that attracts a lot of birds. the birds have been attempting to nest and every year it is a game of chicken between me and them to try to keep their poop away. a couple years ago i bought a plastic owl, but it didn't seem to do anything. this year i dusted it off and attached it to a wood pole and basically wave it around like i am in a native american dance. the birds are scared away. i've done this all week when i see them. it's working. now simply when i walk outside the birds fly away and make their panic calls. i am the owl master. i wonder if native americans wore feathers etc. not just for decoration but also they realized it could scare away birds that might want to poop on them. if i was native american i might just wear an owl skull around bc it's baller and also keeps poop away. also prob scares away mice too.

i haven't had pasta in a while and after a day of lots of outdoors and exercise i cracked open a bag of this artisan perciatelli i had. made a simple EVOO + garlic, onions + parmesean and black pepper. i miss pasta. why is it so much easier to gain weight than it is to lose it? fuckin eh. tomorrow charter fishing. so i guess i am carbo loading in advance. although i will bring tons of food. and beer
