Great article except for, you know, Clone Wars is done and it's rebels that Saw will be in.

I never saw the clone wars or rebels. The animation look awful...should i see them?

I resisted watching for that reason for a long time. Soon as you get in though it passes. There's episodes in Rebels that are as good as anything on the big screen.

That's in keeping with everything else we've seen and heard so far. Makes sense. Knowing they added the stuff with Cassian at the beginning is new, though. And that shit makes the movie SO much better. I can't imagine not having that scene with the spy.

I liked his character for the most part. The brain reading creature thing seemed odd and ultimately unneeded but other than that, I thought it was just about right for the movie. Would be cool to see him in Rebels working for the Empire.

That scene is so important. You know all bets are off at that point. It is soooooo refreshing to have a character who isn't just designed for likability.

And Riz Ahmed is such a good actor, too. His character could have been so awesome.

All that should have tweaked was Saw's line about losing one's mind being a side affect. Just change that line a bit so that it doesn't sound so permanent or sure. And it's fine. I like the idea of the "creature". And it actually works that Saw's kinda wrong since he's also clearly losing his mind. It's clunky and a bit of a missed opportunity. But it isn't bad. Doesn't dent the movie and certainly doesn't hurt Bodhi Rook's character at all.

I was talking about the slug.

For me his best scenes where the ones where he was angling to meet Saw, and then trying to convince him he's on his side (which are truly excellent scenes). Afterwards he was just sorta there for me. Which are your favorites?

I like how he's a bit manic and yet foggy after the slug.

But we see him snap back when he's ordering the troops about the master switch

My favorite is the climax. What he does to get everything set up for transmission is breathtaking and heartbreaking. But beyond that, his scene talking to Jyn about Galen telling him he could "make things right" is just so pitch perfect. That's probably the scene that endears him to me so much and makes me love him.
