There's one shot in that reel I wish they didn't show. Luke with the green tape for cgi reference on his hand and holding the lightsaber. That's a bit of a big giveaway.
The figures coming out for TLJ luke doesn't have a lightsaber accessory though

I quit.
Except for Dime. None of us know anything about Star Wars except him.
I'm just saying... IF both of these characters end up having light sabers... who do we think gets the "new" or different one?
I think the most likely scenario is that Luke tries not to use the light saber at all in the movie. Maybe he does use it at one point but I'm betting Rey basically hangs on to Anakin's saber for the vast majority of the film. And I expect her to carry it with her into Ep 9.

I only heRd about one scene where he might use a saber but we don't know.
Does he need to anymore? Has he moved past needing it? It's balancing story and where the character needs to be against what the audience wants and expects. I don't think he will tbh

I agree. And hell, for all we know he still has the green one from ROTJ.durdencommatyler wrote:It's like no one understands a single thing I'm saying today. Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
It's gonna be pretty awesome if they hide ol' green from us for most of the film and then have him bring it out in the middle of a fight late in the film. Seeing that green blade ignite when we assume that he lost it would be pretty fucking outstanding.
Still, I kinda lean toward the idea that he doesn't need the light saber anymore. I like the idea that he's moved beyond it.

BdT's character's name is "DJ".
DJ = Dark Jedi
Dark Jedi = Ezra

yeah, but that could mean anything. He didn't say it wasn't Ezra. Maybe he used to be Ezra but went dark after the Rebels timeline, essentially becoming someone else.durdencommatyler wrote:Guys, Rian said DJ is his own character.

Still think we're gonna get a battle him and Rey against kylo and knights of ren and luke will just give R2 the nod and R2 will shoot his saber at him and he'll wreck them.
I don't give a fuck if it's too big a repeat. That would be fucking awesome!!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
Are we all excited about this film anyway?
Are we nervous it might be too much a lurch either in style or story?
Are we ready for it to dethrone empire as king of all Star Wars?
Are we ready for it to be many too bridges too far?
Are we gonna see it at least five times in the cinema no matter what?

Lads. They will still be making Star Wars when we're 80.
We will probably have a reboot by that point that diverges from our Star Wars.
force awakens could be our last connection to our Star Wars.
Last Jedi feels like a stepping off point into something else.

Yes, but not thinking too much about it yet.dimejinky99 wrote:Are we all excited about this film anyway?

Yes. But I will reserve judgement until I have seen it, and I will judge it fairly.
I'm ready, but it will take a lot, and I highly doubt it. Even if you include other movies, I think the Lord Of The Rings movies are up there in the debate, but not a lot else in the 21st century. Certainly in this sort of SFF genre.
There are a million mistakes they can make, but also a million things they can get right.
I will quite possibly see it twice in the cinema, and up to five times over a couple of years.
