YOU'RE A BIG WHIFF ON THE PART OF THE WRITERStragabigzanda wrote:If you haven't already, y'all should watch Nightcrawler and The Night Of to get an idea of his range. He was such a powerhouse in those two, that I just felt like this character was a big whiff on the part of the writers.durdencommatyler wrote:My favorite is the climax. What he does to get everything set up for transmission is breathtaking and heartbreaking. But beyond that, his scene talking to Jyn about Galen telling him he could "make things right" is just so pitch perfect. That's probably the scene that endears him to me so much and makes me love him.stip wrote:I was talking about the slug.durdencommatyler wrote:And then his best scenes are after the stupid emotion eater. If by "stupid emotion eater" you mean the slug thing that is actually more of a lie detector and not an emotion eater. If you're not talking about that slug creature thing, then I don't know what you're talking about.stip wrote:he is very good in all his scenes before that stupid emotion eater
For me his best scenes where the ones where he was angling to meet Saw, and then trying to convince him he's on his side (which are truly excellent scenes). Afterwards he was just sorta there for me. Which are your favorites?
Just thought it tried too hard. Even back to the marketing. Idk, just didn't like it. But I hated "Drive" so what do I know?tragabigzanda wrote:What? How could you not appreciate that movie? What didn't you like about it?
I really want to see Nightcrawler. I think it looks great. But I also didn't care for Drive. So...E.H. Ruddock wrote:Just thought it tried too hard. Even back to the marketing. Really? Okay, cool. I'll check it out. I literally know nothing about it. Other than its title.LoathedVermin72 wrote:WTF Repo Man is one of the greatest movies in the world come on Joey
Hmm okay I see what you mean. I guess to me the tones and meanings are so different that I find it hard to compare them, but yeah, I can see it.tragabigzanda wrote:Do you think? The whole Los Angeles wasteland vibe just seemed so reminiscent of repo man to me, even if the plots were nothing alike.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Nightcrawler is motherfucking fantastic. Repo Man comparison seems way off base though.
Just don't confuse it with Repo Men. That movie is terrible.durdencommatyler wrote:Really? Okay, cool. I'll check it out. I literally know nothing about it. Other than its title.LoathedVermin72 wrote:WTF Repo Man is one of the greatest movies in the world come on Joey
