I mean when it came out...yeah i was exited. But its such a lazy teaser, it hurts. Its kinda like a throwaway...I dont get it.

I don't think it generated much excitement or hype.

It had more views* than both its predecessors combined I heard.

Who cares about hype? It won’t affect the outcome at all

You guys own shares in Disney or something?

*in its first 24 hours I think

Not really. I was talking more about the creative input of the teaser...on how lazy it was.

This was not part of the discussion.

It’s the job of marketing to stoke up both is it not?

You lucky bastard. Is it or has it been worth the investment to date?
I’d imagine it would have to be

Well, it's part of my retirement account so I can't really do anything with it but I do appreciate that it alone has made the account grow over the past few years. The rest of it's alright but it would be a normal growth curve without Disney providing that bump.

I’ve had to have contributed at least a few cents to that :)

Im was talking about the creative aspect of the trailer.
It felt like a throwaway, like something they just didnt care or put too much thought into it.

I’m not 100% but as far as I know, the trailers are made by an outside firm (I wanna say they’re called trailer park?) and to date, all SW trailers are clips from within the first 30 minutes of the film-not 100% on that but I’ve heard it said countless times and on countless pods etc.

We got a teaser so far. That’s all. You’ll be sick of trailers and tv spots by mid November. Just
They have a process and format for this stuff as we’ve seen. No point complaining no trailer in late July when we all know there’s not going to be one until October or November.
It’s been the same schedule for all of them since TFA.

This is none of our first rodeos.

yeah, cool. All im saying is that with time, the teaser seems lazy. Not talking about who made it or why or the trailer schedule.

Just a guy sitting drinking coffee thinking ey that was lazy.

Trailers that over promise and the film under delivers or isn’t representative of the film
Top of my head

Phantom menace, rogue one, last Jedi

I’m taking TFA out of that. Those trailers were just perfect

Trailers are intended to get people excited or intrigued about seeing a movie. VG and I both agree the teaser did not fully accomplish either.

Yeah, i think the worst part of this trailer or teaser was how lazy it was. Rey´s scene jumping the tie fighter was a big wtf moment.
