I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Every now and then I am reminded why I like you guys so much. Unlike with Joey.

yeah same.
I didn't hate it. Just ultimately left me flat. There's a lot there to like, though. I had higher expectations.

I certainly don't disagree with any of this. Well said. The specific textures just aren't things that appeal to me personally. Similar to the way Trag can't like Mad Men or Parks and Rec because he hates all the characters, thinks they're terrible people.

And I'd probably argue that it's less nuanced, or at least, less interesting in it's nuance, but that again is taste.

Totally. And I'm super open to being wrong about it. I wanted to like it. And reading others' thoughts will be valuable.

Yeah well it happened to me with a lot of movies, specially Baker’s; who is probably a top 5 favorite from his era to me.

It would be that you are wrong; but maybe you need more time with it.

Really liked although I needed time with the ending. It’s brilliant but it took a while.
Still my favorite from him is Starlet.

Gotcha.

I adore The Florida Project. That's the only Baker film I've seen.

You need to see Starlet and Tangerine. Both of them are so fucking good.

I wouldnt recommend Red Rocket to you tough. Might be a little much for you, specially if Anora was not of your taste.
