This movie The Brutalist is very long and very dull. It's well over 3 hours long and nothing really happens in that time. (They do eventually get a building built, I think) The movie also contains blatant repugnant actions from the characters such as antisemitism, "classism", rape and sexual assualt of both men and women, and a bit of glamorous Hollywood heroin addiction to make it cool and hip for the kids. This movie made me ponder why films are so extreme these days. Why are movies either 3 and half hours long, pretentious, serious, challenging, and painful or an hour and a half of fairies, unicorns, rainbows, diversity, and inclusiveness? What happened to the middle ground where 99.9% of us live?

I gettin the idea Joe didn’t liked it because of this and the graphic sex scenes

The only issue I have with the sex scenes is that there was no intimacy coordinator on set.

Have you read about Mikey’s involvement in the creation of her character at all? She built Ani and her story from the ground up, and Sean Baker seems to have given her wide latitude and support.
