Now, who will Vicky allow to induct them?

A really touching piece with a very humble Kim Thayil - the full interview is worth your time:

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/musi ... 235330939/
How do you think Chris would have felt about this?

I think he would’ve been really proud and happy. And the reason why I’m saying that is because he’s the one who imparted that understanding to the rest of us after he inducted Heart. He came away from that with a different understanding of the event and of the accolade, and he shared that with us. We had conversations about it a few times. And since he had a better understanding of what to expect, and to prepare for it, than the rest of us. I think for that reason he would’ve been very happy and very proud.
Many fans are fascinated by the Soundgarden record that Chris was working on with you guys when he died. Do you think that’s going to be released?

I think so. Our objective and goal was always to complete that. I probably have OCD enough to not want to leave something unfinished or incomplete like that, so I think the more we can attend to our body of work and our catalog…I think everyone in the band feels that way. I don’t just to attend to my work, but the collective work, and in this case specifically, the work of Chris.

I saw an Instagram reel of Soundgarden covering “Alive” in 1992. I had no idea it existed. Pretty surreal, and Chris did a hell of a job with it

That’s a great interview. Thanks for sharing it.

I do hope Ed sings a tune with them at the ceremony. And it’s hard to picture anyone else inducting them. Vicky won’t allow that, tho.

I can see someone like Jeff or Stone also introducing them...or even someone from, lets say, Black Sabbath. Taylor Momsen could be if they pick a younger artist.

As for someone to sing the songs, probably Taylor, Shania Shepherd and maybe Ed yeah, but not sure which song is fitting for Ed...maybe Fell On Black Days?

Ed would sound tremendous on Room A Thousand Years Wide.

This all seems like a weird wishlist knowing they will play Spoonman, Black Hole Sun, Outshined, and maybe Burden in My Hand?

They ain’t diggin’ deep.

Great interview. And good to hear they can finally work on that last album. Can't wait!

https://www.pearljamonline.it/en/kim-th ... den-album/
“We’ve always wanted to finish it,” Thayil says. “But there were legal issues, fights over the masters, all kinds of complications that slowed us down. Now we can do it. And we have to.” He describes the album as “a final gift to Chris” and emphasizes these aren’t just scraps or demos—they’re fully developed songs the band worked on together with Cornell in the studio between 2016 and early 2017.

These are some of the tracks that might end up on the band’s posthumous record:

Ahead Of The Dog (Cornell/Thayil)
At Ophians Door (Cornell/Cameron)
Cancer (Cornell)
Merrmas (Cornell/Shepherd)
Orphans (Cornell/Cameron)
Road Less Traveled (Cornell/Cameron)
Stone Age Mind (Cornell)
Thayil says the songs cover “a surprising range—some are heavy and dark, others are more experimental and melodic.” But for him, the top priority is “keeping Chris’s voice just as it is, no gimmicks. He’s leading this record, like he’s still here with us.”

This may keep a Pearl Jam fall tour from happening.

nah, a PJ tour lasts only three weeks. They will plan around that.

i'd expect PJ can def plan around this

they should incorporate that date into the tour!

i think the roadies that support them are mostly the same
