I assume the upper waters beyond the firmament leak in through the fountains of the great deep (tehom) and drain out over the edge of the earth.

If we're going to talk about it seriously, it's not a little bit of snow, Burt. It's the Canadian Rockies. That's a significant swath of the world. And then it's fed along the way by other sources additionally.

I won't get the "I just wanted to be left alone" statements, while living off his mom's bank account so he could mail bombs out to hurt random people for 30 years.

He personally successfully opted out of an industrial society. I don't think he was trying to spare the rest of us.
His being a subject of MK Ultra-esque experiments is certainly interesting. Maybe they were successful, but not in the direction they intended.
