Is this easier to say now that Nebraska's in the Big Ten?
Maybe a little?
I never really hated OU. My hate in college athletics is reserved for Creighton, Texas, Colorado, Miami, etc. There was always a mutual respect there between NU/OU fan bases. Still is I think. I probably root for them a little more now that we are not in the same conference. Same with A&M and Kansas.

Preach! Full disclosure....I am just as excited for tailgate season.
Only time I ever saw a game there was 1994 but it was a lot of fun.
The Nebraska tailgating scene has always underwhelmed. The whole keep your beer in plastic cup thing is pretty lame. Maybe I just haven't tailgated in the right spots.

You are 90% correct. Most of them suck. Agreed you have not been to the right ones. My buddy's boss is a big time booster and has a primo spot. He is the most chill guy except for 12 Saturdays a year.
Yes, it most certainly helps to have a good spot with someone who actually tailgates. I hate when some luxury car pulls up to a spot right by the stadium 10 minutes before kickoff. That is prime tailgating real estate you rich bastard! Take advantage of it.
Seriously. Those folks are the worst.

Bobby Petrino is kinda snakey but he is a hell of a college football coach.

Clemson. They've done a pretty good job at beating SEC teams the last few years with wins over: Auburn, UGA, LSU and South Carolina. In fairness, they also lost to Auburn, UGA, and South Carolina, but they definitely hold their own against the mighty, infallible, good as the NFL, SEC.

Will they be in contention for a playoff spot?

Rooting against an SEC team is like voting for a third party candidate. you are throwing your vote away.

And the year before, FSU and Crab Legs, of the poor pathetic, not worthy of college football ACC, won it all.

Who is your team? I am assuming a SEC team?
I don't really hate a lot of the teams in the SEC, I just get sick of ESecPN pimping the hell out of the conference. For college ball, it's nothing but the SEC. For NFL, it's all about the Pats, Packers, Cowboys. For college hoops, it's all about Duke. It's like the same hyped up shit from them every year.
I actually hope Clemson keeps scheduling SEC teams. They are about to do a home / home with Texas A&M, that should be fun. I'd also love to see Clemson take on Auburn and / or UGA on a regular basis, and of course they play the Chickens of South Carolina annually.

My team is Tennessee, but they are terrible and I don't ever see them returning to the glory days of losing to FLorida and Alabama in big games again. Recruiting is too tough.
I don't watch ESPN since I don't have cable (and I hate them), but I can see how they can make people hate anything.

In the grand scheme of things, it's a pretty minor fuck up in Baylor terms isn't it?
at least no one got murdered this time. I think anyway?
Pro and College Sports in general need a department (like that of the compliance department) that oversees and handles these type of domestic issues. It's an epidemic. Horrible.
Cannot trust coaches to handle this in a responsible manner. They aren't trained to do that and they have an incentive to get the player on the field. It's a university social issue that they do not have a handle on virtually anywhere.
Still, whether it's Jameis Winston or Prince Shembo or Patrick Kane or UVA or Duke Lacrosse, these stories are all tried in the media with a lot of biases and assumptions.

Tennessee just needs the right coach/staff. Once that happens I think they will be back. Sleeping giant for sure. They have excellent facilities.

Its tough to lure a coach into the SEC right now I think. UT has certainly had a problem doing it, even with the infrastructure they have.

Oh totally.
I don't think Butch Jones is a bad coach. Not sure if he is the guy who can get you guys back to the top half of the SEC though.
You need a Gus Malzahn type hire.
