I was curious if there was a tiny contingent so hostile to vaccines in general that they would ignore everything else and pull the lever for this guy. Maybe (hopefully!) not.

According to Quinnipiac, he’s gone from peak popularity (which was *14 points underwater*) with Democrats in mid-June to a more settled 43 points underwater today.

He’s much more popular with Republicans (48% favorable, 18% unfavorable), but it’s hard to imagine any of them voting for him either.

It is a shame that power players always funnel so much money into these obviously-cynical vote-siphon efforts, because it relegates the whole concept of a third-party to exactly that. No real third-party candidate will ever get the attention, free press, or easy funding that a party-backed vote-siphon tool gets….and it happens with such regularity that I think it probably makes a lot of people more skeptical of a third-party actor than they would otherwise be.

I 100% support the separation of the blue team into distinct liberal/moderate and progressive/green parties.

i wish the GOP was not separated now into the Look-All-We-Wanted-Was-Tax-Cuts moderates vs. the I-Eat-My-Own-Shit-And-You-Should-Too extremists

There is an excellent op-ed in today’s Seattle Times calling for age/term limits and age-based mental competency testing for all levels of elected and appointed officials.

Fucking do it.

Sounds like something that might require an ID.

This is a really selfless suggestion peeps. It's nice to see that some people are still willing to put the greater good ahead of their own interests.

I don't think what I consider too mentally incompetent to vote is the same thing that physicians consider mentally incompetent.
