I've amended my rating from 2 stars to 3. Definitely has grown on me. But is very very dad rock.

This song is great, and it's maybe the best example of how their approach on Gigaton really helped show the band in its best light compared to some of the previous records.

It feels like they covered a song off the Back To The Future OST

Is Chris the singer in the rock and roll band?

The outro to this song takes it up at least half a star.

the end of this song is, I hope, the starting place for whatever that Petty adjacent song is on DM.

This song took me by surprise when i first saw it live. On the album it was a 3 but live it kind of melted my face. 5 stars live

The outro is my favorite part of this song.

As stip says, it has a great cool down.. ed was not held back or edited which sounds terrible on paper.. but i've been enjoying this a lot lately.

I wonder if this is the final form of ed sprizty punk? and we wont get any on dark matter.

Small mercies. Better if none of them existed.

Definitely. It was really refreshing on Gigaton to have moments where it felt like the song was driving itself in terms of where it was heading, as opposed to a need to chop it down (Who Ever Said has this, too - it's an unorthodox choice to have the bridge keep going as it does, but they do it cause that's where the song needed to go).

this was the best thing about hearing Gigaton for the first time, realising the band wasn't having all of its first instincts tampered with and overruled under BO'B

Yeah

The outro is wonderful. Classic PJ circa 98 in how the guitars interact.

On paper, if you were to describe this song to me, I would think I probably wouldn't like it. But against all odds, this is one of my favorites on the album.

it's really good in a quiet, unassuming way. It's basically the MFC of Gigaton. And it does kick ass live.
