I remember Druckman saying we'd hear more about Factions this year, now is as good a time as any. I think we'll get a new Spider man trailer and release date. Agree probably nothing on Wolverine. Probably more on Street Fighter 6. Sounds like a new IP is in our midst too.

Outside of first party I'm hoping to finally hear some kind of confirmation on all these Metal Gear remake rumors. I would absolutely shit if we got a full blown MGS 3 remake on PS5; it's by far the best MGS says I. Wouldn't be surprised if we maybe get a Tekken 8 release window, too.

Unrelated to the showcase, looks like the next Mortal Kombat will be announced tomorrow morning.

Will GTA6 ever be announced? That has to be a 2024 release, right?

Talk about timing - per their financial meeting, this will be released between April 2024 and March 2025.

Yeah I saw that, hopefully that release window comes to fruition. As much as I hated how GTAV was milked to shit, I'd play another/new GTA game in a heartbeat

I beat GTA5 on the PS3. It's been a while.

Other than MGS and Spider-Man, mostly second teir and deeper cuts games.

No single player in Marathon. Bungie's been teasing this for years and now it multi-player only. ffs

Yeah, seemed like they just cobbled a bunch of stuff together to get a showcase before Microsoft. 2024 must be shaping up to the a banger year for first party games.

Gaming Community: Make a Vita successor, a Switch competitor.

Sony: How about we make a high powered WiiU instead. What can go wrong?

This might be a worse add-on than the 32X.

Even far away, 2024 looks like shit. GTA and Dragon Age. I'm guessing Wolverine will slide. Nintendo won't have much of anything. Microsoft's big release might be the Gears remakes. What am I overlooking?

It's definitely too early to say with any certainty what is being released next year, but I bet we have at least two first party Sony games (like Ghosts and something from Bluepoint). There's always a healthy stable of third party games too. Tough to compete with the first half of this year.

Buried in all the hoopla was one very ominous detail - Alan Wake 2 will be the first AAA digital only game. Now I hope it flops. I don't want that to catch on.

Microsoft will likely have a Hellblade 2 and/or Avowed.

GTA 6 will rule everything. I wonder if every dev just gets out of the way.

Concur...I didn't realize it was going full digital. Physical copy for life.

A somewhat disappointing showcase compared to the 2021 showing. Though I'm pretty stoked that MGS3 remake is a reality, now I'm just hoping the developer (who's developing it) didn't fuck it up

Really shocked we didn't get a release date for Spider Man. I'm assuming maybe they'll announce later in the summer like they did for Ragnarok last year, with preorders soon to follow. I'd predict a Nov release window.

I will say one game that completely took me by surprise is Phantom Blade Zero. I hope the combat will really look like that when they eventually release it, I assume next year. It honestly looks f'ing amazing though I know the theme / setting, etc has been done before. Never seen combat that fluid in a video game though....

It does, I'm glad we finally got to see some real PS5-specific in game footage/rationale, aside from the previous 10 min game play preview from a few months ago. This trailer sold me/has me pumped.

There's also loads of additional game detail in a PS Blog write up posted today. :bammer:
