It's the classic PJ song with upliftin music but a far from positive theme. Thematically, I can liken this to Betterman. Roles are reversed of course.
Of course, I may be complete wrong about this and you can lambast this post in that case

I even think the chorus could be kinda sarcastic. He's saying 'well she might have been your 'lightning bolt' your crazy once in a lifetime love once, but now you're screwed cause she'll always be there in some form'
However I will be completely unsprised if its actually another love song about eds wife.

Those lyrics are so syntactically screwed up, the story could be anything you wanted.

I'm pretty sure when Alive came out, the lyrics didn't make much sense and if anything, people believed it was a celebratory song.
Not if you listened to that bridge. Made perfect, dark and freaky sense.
Well, it didn't sound dark to me. At least not until I heard what Ed had to say about the Mamasan trilogy. That made me look into them completely differently. This one is more obviously negative, to me at least. The imagery is also unique.

I think you were right the first time. No way in hell is this about Ed's wife. Not unless there's serious trouble brewing there. I'm hearing the chorus as representing someone completely smitten or enchanted in the first part of the song and then turning sarcastic/not knowing how to get out of it, by the end. This song works on many levels for me.

I think it means that shes feeling the same way about the relationship and that she sees HIM as her main problem and when he dies she will be problem free. lol thats what I'm taking away from it anyway.
