Not sure if it’s been discussed before, but if you haven’t watched The Thick of It, I highly recommend it. Jesse Armstrong wrote many of the episodes, and you can feel Succession’s DNA throughout. It’s an Armando Iannucci joint, if that also floats your boat. To top it off, it features Will Smith as an actor, who’s the showrunner of Slow Horses.

Got about 2 and a half seasons in and I think I'm gonna tap out. I heard about how brilliant this was, but it's just a pg-13 rated House of Cards without the bite and sleaze of the early Fincher episodes. How many times can I watch the same 4 people betray each other? Also, I love how quaint and out of touch it is by today's standards. Like anyone would give a shit about these news stories for more than five minutes, or the delirious allusions to "real news" (boomer libtardism).

It's also missing a real breakout character.

I dunno, it's an entertaining enough soap opera, but hardly brilliant.

C+

I think enough time has passed that we can admit this show was not that good

It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t all that.

It definitely spin it's wheels and gets repetitive after awhile, but I still found it really entertaining.
