Q: Do you still do seniority seating?
A: Yes. For Pearl Jam shows reserved seated tickets will still be assign based on seniority.
for the Seattle show in '13, my buddy got his tix through Ticketmaster and had much better seats than my 10c seats. Yay.
Same here. When they did the sign up for the tickets you want, and IF we pick you, you must purchase them, I was miffed.
I tried for two shows in hopes of getting one and got them both, and I was kind of a little miffed about that.
I convinced myself to be excited because seeing the band in Philly and then in Hartford a week later was kind of a mini "following the band," something I used to dream about back in the day.
At this point, I had forgiven the Hartford 08 debacle when hundreds of 10 clubbers were left waiting in line through the opening act and PJ's first six or so songs (I got in at six and there plenty of folks behind me). Those things happen.
Anyway, the Philly and Hartford shows (2013) were good shows as PJ concerts go, but our seats sucked. We were close to as far back as you can be on the floor both nights. I am 6-5, so it's not too big a problem, but my wife if not.
In the end, I know it doesn't matter. My wife noticed I wasn't really into either show and I agreed. I stayed in the club for another year and quit. I didn't see the point. I've seen the band plenty of times, including some epic shows. The shows aren't all that different. I don't need to seem them again. I will miss the holiday vinyls. That's about it.

That picture I posted in the Yield thread of my beaten-up old copy reminds me how much I hate that the band insist on packaging all their post-Vs CDs in cardboard covers that get scuffed just by looking at them and where the risk of scratching the CD is run every time I try to retrieve it from some internal sleeve with my chubby fingers.

The gimmick was cool with Vitalogy but it got old REAL quick.

I am a committed fan of the CD jewel case, McP.
It's a great, utilitarian design.

Jewel cases are possibly the worst thing ever invented by human beings. And I'm including the children's kazoo and parkour

Digipack or cardboard packaging on CDs strikes me as a flawed attempt at importing the conventions of vinyl packaging to a format where they don't make any sense. Jewel cases are durable, very effectively protect the CD and artwork and are easily replaced if damaged.

I totally agree. It's why I give my wife car air fresheners instead of flowers for Valentine's Day.

I hate jewel cases so much. I swear half of them are broken before I even remove the plastic wrap. I can't believe anyone likes those horrible pieces of shit.

what about digipacks like yield, binaural, riot act and avocado? they still have the plastic tray to protect your precious cd but have the nice cardboard packaging as well.

I have rarely had one of these where the little teeth that hold the CD haven't weakened or broken with time, at which point you're stuck with a loosely-secured CD unless you want to buy a brand new copy.

I know you're joking, but there's a good point here. Now a days, I keep the CD in the car for a week or so, then I rip it, put the CD on a shelf, and listen digitally forever after.

I think 2009 was the last time I bought anything on cd. 2010 or 11 I sold/gave away the hundreds of shelf-fillers I still had.

Pretty sure my old CD binders are somewhere in the attic at my parent's house. If only I still had my Discman to play them on.
