The 49ers are “exploring all options” regarding Trey Lance.

As of now, the team has moved on from the idea of Lance playing for the Niners. They are trying to trade him. Lance will play in the last preseason game in hopes his performance attracts a trade partner.

The bigger story now for the team is Nick Bosa still not in camp as a holdout.

People in SF are crushing Shanahan and Lynch and it’s deserved to an extent. I do give them credit for not compounding their mistake by forcing Lance into the QB1 or QB2 role. The Niners have a super bowl caliber roster and if they need their back up QB, it can’t be a player who is learning on the job. Hopefully the kid has better luck in Dallas.
