very exited about Mike D solo album out this friday

This Friday is pretty big: Mike D, Mastodon, Dinosaur Jr, Interpol, Ty Segall and Alabama Shakes.

absolutely mortified for aging Beastie Boys fans. This Mike D solo stuff is whack as hell. But then I think "I Don't Know" and "Instant Death" are both top 10 B-Boys tracks, so maybe I'm the problem.

Some reviews are reporting that Interpol’s new album is their best since Antics.

I think it's of a piece with the rest of the mix but yeah I get it.

Have you listened to ILYSM? I think the vocals on that record are a lot cleaner and better captured, but again they're not always pushed to the front.

The new Alabama Shakes record is a very welcome return. They've still got it.

Waist Deep and I Feel Hope Coming are early favourites in terms of individual tracks.

These days its mostly rock, from Led Zep to Truly with lots of Soundgarden and a bit of QOTSA. I do enjoy Ecca Vandal´s new one and ear, a band i started listening recently because Mike D mentioned them.

Also,i ve been trying to listen more to Los Dig Dig, Electric Prunes and Redd Kross.

ive been recently drawn to rock, jazz and hip hop and way less to any pop artist. Not sure why, but its been happening for a while.
