I'd rather have another Strand of Oaks/MMJ collab, but this'll do.

Ew!! Not even MMJ and Jason Isbell combined could save that. Nice guy with talented friends.

Im excited! And was already expecting this record 4 years ago haha...

It's always nice when one of your favorite bands releases a new record. I mean..I discover new young bands all the time. But it's nice when you have a long-term relationship with a band. I only have maybe 10 of those bands left...

It beats the pants off every MMJ album since Z.

The Waterfall was a very good album.

I also think that Evil Urges has gotten a lot better with the benefit of time, and is still underrated.

I thought the Strand of Oaks album was excellent but I prefer all the MMJ stuff over it. Maybe there’s just something to the way Jim James fits with these guys that works.

What’s tough though, looking at this beyond we get a new album the day after tomorrow, is that I was under the impression they were working on actual new material and not necessarily just shoring up what they already had. Maybe that is still the case and we won’t need to wait 6 years for a follow up to this, but with MMJ, I keep fearing this is it based on the fact that in 6 years now their new input is basically what was left off the last album.

I’d have to think pretty hard to come up with a bigger waste of great musicians.

Ray LaMontagne really showed how to utilize them.

I have no shame in being the defender of Circuital here. I love that album.

Listened to it driving home from an epic hike in the Holy Cross Wilderness this weekend and it was PERFECT!

MMJ has been a go to band during this pandemic. I'm excited to see what Waterfall II sounds like!

I do too, but I also really like Evil Urges. It’s a real grower and took me years to appreciate.

I really enjoy Circuital and Evil Urges but need to be in a specific mood for them. Except for Holding On To Black Metal, love that all the time.

Combining the best tracks from both albums could possibly yield my favorite mmj record.

Yes.

There are a lot of good tracks on it. I think it gets weighed down a little in the middle, much in the way Circuital feels long at the end with the slow songs stacked on top of each other in the last 10-15 mins, but there is a lot to enjoy over those two albums.
