Stone's main guitar part in "Garden" is probably my favorite thing about Ten. A really lovely pattern.

The video from their 2022 show at MSG of them playing Garden second song in the set after Release really rejuvenated my love of the song. It sounded so good.

Yeah, they played Garden second song in Ottawa last year. It was never one of my all-time favourites, but I loved hearing it live for the first time. They nailed it, too.Farmer John wrote:The video from their 2022 show at MSG of them playing Garden second song in the set after Release really rejuvenated my love of the song. It sounded so good.

I'm quite on board with this.liebzz wrote:Penny #2 - Breath and SOLAT are both Pearl Jam all-timers. Breath for some reason feels to me like something pre-Ten that bridges the sonic gap between Mother Love Bone and Pearl Jam while SOLAT seems like a natural step forward in vibe towards the sounds they would capture on Vs.

Deep is incredible, one of the most engaging PJ drum grooves ever, paired with one of their funkiest riffsVitalogist wrote:Wow… I’m surprised to see so much Deep appreciation. There aren't many PJ tunes in waltz time, the ones that are must be treasuredMs Harmless wrote:Deep is incredible, one of the most engaging PJ drum grooves ever, paired with one of their funkiest riffs

*Actually I'm thinking about this and maybe there are more than I thought. Deep, Elderly Woman, Nothingman, Red Mosquito, Rival, Half Full, All or None. What else?
The point about treasuring them does not change.

"Low Light," though it has that classic Jeff Ament extra beat in the riff. And then "Yellow Moon" too.

Re: Lost Dogs: Official Album Thread
a few of those are in 6/8 but not strictly waltzes to me, which are made waltzes by particular emphasis on the 3 and 6 of each bar (in this case on that phat snare)
1-2-*3*
ooon the
4-5-*6*
eeeedge
1-2-*3*
wiiiindow
4-5-*6*
siiiill etc.
on a straight 6/8 groove you'd have one snare on each 4th beat

Re: Lost Dogs: Official Album Thread
and traditionally you'd get waltzes with emphasis on 2-3 and 5-6, but that's gonna sound ballroom dance-y
