I wish more people understood this. I hate it when I'm listening to something and the entire field of sound is reduced because it gets too busy all of a sudden.

Found this article interesting and refreshing. Bands never really talk about this stuff
I scrolled the list and most of these artists are the same size or smaller than my son's band. They should not be touring anywhere outside of a small and slowly growing local area, unless they get festival slots that they can at least break even on. At that size, yes they need jobs. They should be recording in their bedrooms as much as possible and treating albums like a year of university. It may cost money but you see where you are at the end of year four.
Cass McCombs is big enough to survive on his music alone but man does he have a chip on his shoulder. He's chosen to swim in a small pond, folk music and then resents what people in pop make.
