Joey - at first i was underwhelmed but it has started to grow on me and take hold. Keep at it.

Consolers of the Lonely is an incredible rock record that has been with me since its release. Incredible from top to bottom. We had to wait 12 years for this one and at first couple listens i was not as excited but i think that had to do with expectations.

Brendan and Jack sound so great here. There is no standout track like Carolina Drama but i think that is one of the greatest songs ever written but there's lots of incredible stuff here.

So far so good.

I certainly don't dislike the record at all. It's good. But it's JUST good. And there is no stand out track. But I have only listened to it once. I'm sure it'll open up with more listens.

Thankfully, there aren't too many moments where Jack's vocals sound like the Ballroom Blitz guy.

Jack's voice is solid on the record. His guitar is outstanding. But I think BB might be the MVP. But again, just after one listen.

pretty crazy. Definitely dont agree with that and im just working my way through it!

Somedays on this new record....i kind of love how its two songs. They seem to complement eachother well where it actually feels like an epilogue.

Fully admit though that the dead weather was something i never could get into it. I loved "will there be enough water" but otherwise.....not for me.

Perhaps i should revisit.

Oh i love that song. Most songs from Dead weather seem long.....even though most are under 4 minutes.

I am really liking the new album. Born and Razed is stellar and I don't think there's a throw away song on the album. It is not as good as Consolers of the Lonely but few albums are. But what do I know, I think that The Dead Weather is Jack's best post White Stripes band, Alison Mosshart is amazing.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

If anyone else ordered the Vault version, I highly advise ripping the lenticular cover off.

I've always been a huge huge Brendan Benson fan so I'm happy to see him working with Jack again. I'm surprised by how vital this sounds from a band that hasn't played together in forever.
