Chances Putin uses tactical nukes if he doesn't pacify Ukraine within the next week are now what? Any betting markets on this?

He should probably beef up his security detail though.

They could and should fast track EU membership for Ukraine. That would render Putins entire invasion pointless at the very least.

Even Switzerland have stepped up and sanctioned Russia. They’re freezing about 11 billion in Russian assets.
That’s a big plus.

Why shocking? As it’s a first? Guess that is shocking given Switzerland’s breaking its long standing stance but called for here I think.
Putin will be directly affected in this asset freeze it seems.

Are there any safeguards in the Russian nuclear system if Putin were to just go down in a blaze of fury and want to launch all nukes at once?

They have something called dead hand apparently. Even if Moscow is destroyed or cut off all their other missles including in subs will launch automatically.

simpleschoolboy about to drop some science
Ruddo would know more about this than I. He's got clearances and whatnot.

But Ruddo is the one who asked the question?

I’m not talking about if Russia is attacked though. I’m saying if Putin just think all hope is lost in Ukraine and his people turn against him, what if he decides to just say “fuck it” and end the world?

I think the inner circle will have removed him before that. I don’t see moscovites rising against him. The protests are growing a little bit but not much. But if he were to be in the situation where he throws a shit fit and it all isn’t working and wants to go nuclear That’s where the palace coup happens.
We’re basically all depending on one of his generals or inner circle to step up now.
That’s what all the coverage on him I’ve been listening to and reading is saying. We have to hope people within the circle are plotting or at least agreeing a red line is. They have to act.
There’s a great piece on it I’ll try find it for you.
