You know I think there’s a good chance that this ends up being a big bust. The die-hard fans who kept this band going way past their expiration date with the general public are going to be split on this whole thing, and I think it’s been way too long for anyone who isn’t a big fan beyond the first couple records to give a shit. I’m just not sure there will be much interest to be honest.

Yes. I think this means a tour in smaller venues, like 2013 and not trying to fill the Garden or some other oversized venue.

most likely they'll play big festivals and do some sort of summer co-headline tour in Live Nation sheds (see the Live/Bush tour last year)

maybe a small fall headlining run in theaters

They're going to be a shadow of the band they once were but I'd go see them under the right circumstances. A greatest hits tour with decent co-headliner would peak my interest. Would I be expecting stellar breakdowns and being taken to new places? No but it could be a fun nostalgia evening.

UP until 2013 i still felt they were a regular band releasing music and touring. They still had a majority of their main lineup intact.

So, therefore, it wouldnt even feel like a nice "nostalgic" evening for me. It would just be fucking weird and I'd be pissed at the robinson brothers.

For me, the nostalgia would be for the music and not the band.

I think what im trying to say is i still listen to the black crowes on a regular basis. So its not really a nostalgia thing.

unfortunately strat, this tour is not meant for you or me...it's meant for people who want to hear Remedy and HTH and STTA and remember where they were when those songs were hits....

Yup. The target audience isn't concerned about the makeup or integrity of the band. Some hits and beers on a summer's night is all they want.

So which reunion is more of a shameless cash grab, this or Smashing Pumpkins?

The Pumpkins put on a well thought out, 3 hour plus show which included some new music made by that iteration of the band. Not even close.

I should have clarified, I meant the mid 2000's Zeitgeist reunion where half the band was gone and they played songs that were never even officially released all the time.
