True, but their opponents so far (OAK, TB, NO) are giving up an average of 31 points in all of the games they've played so far. Those defenses are not stout.

And taking out those games against the Falcons, those three teams still give up 28.5 points per game. TB and NO rank 32nd and 31st in scoring defense (ATL is 28th); OAK and NO rank 32nd and 31st in YPG (ATL is 30th). ATL just hasn't played good teams.

And they lost to one of those bad teams.

Next three games: vs. CAR, @DEN, @SEA.

Thanks a lot poopers, just trying to enjoy the season here.
If the Falcons are 3-3 to start some how, I'd be pretty happy.

Don't, you were right. Everyone really.
I'm just kind of amazed. They just put up 80 points in 2 road games, and Julio Jones had one catch for 16 yards in the last one. We'll see after the next 3 obviously, but they might have a pretty good offense this year.
So far I think I'm most impressed by New England, Philadelphia and Minnesota.
Minnesota's defense is a joy to watch. I love Zimmer, I miss having him as our DC.

I think I'll save answering this question in detail myself until after Week 4 (since each team will be at the quarter pole), but I'm wondering: which teams can we already count out of playoff contention? The 0-3 teams are already there, of course, but I'm going to be on the lookout for any real stinkers this weekend.

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt reinjured his back and will be placed on injured reserve Wednesday, sources confirmed to ESPN's Dan Graziano and Adam Schefter.
"It doesn't look good," a Texans source said.
The news was first reported by NFL.com.
There's no replacing J.J. Watt, but the Texans have playmakers on their front seven, and none will be counted on more than Jadeveon Clowney, who is finally healthy.
Watt will be eligible to return to practice after six weeks on IR and to game action after eight weeks, meaning he could be back Nov. 27 against the San Diego Chargers. However, a team source told ESPN's Ed Werder that "I do believe that he will miss the season, but with the new rule this year, if he were to be ready in December, he could come off IR. Long shot."

Those few but unfortunate Rams fans in LA will have to see their team kickoff from London at 6:30 AM.

I don't even know who they're playing. Probably somebody with a good rushing defense, though.
