Sounds like the owners showed the writers the same level of respect the writers showed the music they were writing about.
I said it. That magazine was trash. Every thing I ever read there sounded like it was written by someone who listened to the first 30 seconds of each song. Just mass-produced bitching.

Pitchfork stopped existing a few months ago, right? None of the original people are still there. Now I think it's just run by a Conde Nast intern. It's not really worth it to make fun of them now.

"Best new music" was the only thing ever worth paying attention to. Their regular reviews were edgy trash.
They gave NIN's The Fragile a 2. IDIOTS!

I only visit Pitchfork a handful of times per year anymore, but I'm grateful that this wasn't a thing when I was a more frequent visitor to the site -- during those years I think I would have been simultaneously annoyed by its existence yet endlessly tempted to spout off on it. Though probably not for $5/month...
