The listening party for Gigaton was in late January for a late March release. Not saying this album will come out that soon, but it's worth considering.

Well this is embarrassing. FWIW I kind of dig that track, and was happy to give the YT video its 8th like.

This does NOT reflect well on the Jamily and we should have a retrospective to discuss why this happened and how we can prevent this from happening again.

But it also says a lot about the state of Pearl Jam music today that this many people who say they love Pearl Jam thought this was Pearl Jam, or that they were OK with this being Pearl Jam. I'm so confused.

pretty sure that most people who liked it before they knew it wasn't Pearl Jam still like it

I personally wouldn't say I "love" Pearl Jam anymore, not like I used to anyway; they earned enough of my love for so many years that some of my investment, curiosity and enjoyment will always be there

so now we have a fake new Pearl Jam song against which we can grade the real new Pearl Jam song and say "at least it's not that"

As glad as I am that that clip wasn't the new song, I will admit that the most "generic cut-to-commerical" sounding song on Gigaton is probably Never Destination, and that's one of my favourites.

for the record, i was watching the football game when the song came on and immediately thought it was new, unreleased pearl jam.. i thought about recording it and coming on here to talk about it.. then said "nah.. " and moved on with my life. i feel pretty good about that
