Have you heard any Queen Adreena? They're not around anymore, they split up sometime in the 00s, but they were fantastic. More abrasive and aggressive than what I've heard of PJ Harvey, but with a similar raw and scratchy aesthetic.

I remember them. I don't know if I remember any of their stuff, but I remember them being around. I'll have to give them a listen later and see if I remember any of it.

It's actually not my favourite one on that album (great album btw) but it just had the angular groovy quality of Harvey I felt.

I would say there's a fair chance of that, as long as I can find something else to say other than FUCK YOU BRENDAN.
1st impressions: a very mediocre, generic, bland first half, but the other half of the album is quite interesting.

At the risk of having the villagers come after me with the torches, three listens into the record I don't really have any overwhelming gripes with BO'B's production. The things I don't like so far don't strike me as being his fault. Maybe that'll change as I get more acquainted with it, but so far I haven't had a "Damn you O'Brien!" moment.

Yeah I really like how they manage to avoid generic blandness in LTRP and FD's piano part.

I'm actually pretty happy with the production on LB. The bass and drums sound full and glorious, and the guitars are not jumping down my throat like they did on S/T.
Even Ed's vocals sound great, they're not down too low/muffled and aren't too raw/high in the mix.

I wasn't gonna say this because I think 99% of people would consider it to be trolling, but I find the keyboards on FD to be the least of it's problems. It has a really good chance of going down as my least favorite Pearl Jam song ever, but not because of BO'B.

That's really the only problem I have that's almost definitely a production choice.

For all that I disagree, you're hardly the first person to say that and I respect the opinion. I feel as if this would've been an absolutely fine song to end the album on, if not for the piano making it sound like an Australian soap opera. It's cute, trite, sentimental, all the rest, but I really like that bridge and I'm a sucker for the violin. It needed guitar, violin and slide guitar. Nothing else.

Yeah it certainly sounds great on a decent pair of head cans, especially Pendulum.
