I think you're vastly underselling McCarthy here. If he's healthy, he's and easy 2-3 type guy. He's a great pitcher.

I don't know about great pitcher. When he keeps the ball down he is solid. When he doesn't he is garbage. He has learned how to pitch much better than he did in Texas.

Meh. 31st in the league in fWAR the last 4 years despite having 200-300 fewer innings than almost everyone ahead of him. Obviously the injuries are a major concern, but I would have no problem having a healthy McCarthy as the 2nd best pitcher in my rotation.
