I disagree on both counts!

Oh man! Report back.
I was super into seeing it and then I saw a ton of negative press about it. But if you like it, I'll totally see it!

Well, I loved the end credits song by St. Vincent.
Everything else was ok. Far from great. But ok.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Went to see The Accountant 2 but I was bored out of my goddamn mind so I went to see Thunderbolts.
I was liking it in the first half, but it mostly lost me by the end. Felt half baked or like parts has been chopped out. Ended up being standard Marvel, but it needed to be darker.

The Keep. Michael Mann's capable direction and a Tangerine Dream soundtrack can't save this one. I kind of enjoyed it, though. At least it's different. Young(ish) Ian McKellen kinda sucks, tbh.
Joe Kidd. Eastwood and Robert Duvall can't save this one either. Nonsensical plot. sometimes looks nice. Blows it's viable premise.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I thought this was the movie that Plat and Argo were talking about on the last page, so I went to watch it, forgetting that they were actually taking about The Amateur.E.H. Ruddock wrote:lol the accountant 2
I was like, "what are they talking about? Jon Bernthal has plenty of speaking parts in this."
Anyway it sucked.

Finally saw it today. Can’t understand the hate some have for it, though it was odd. Marvelous acting by Emma Stone. Beautiful cinematography. Interesting story.tommy wrote:tommy wrote:epilogue wrote:tommy wrote:Sitting down in the theater to see Poor Things![]()
Can't wait to hear your thoughts.
I loved it. Funny, thought provoking and absolutely gorgeous. Easily a top 5 movie of 2023. I can't wait to see it again.
I was surprised by how many people were in the theater on a Tuesday at 2:30. It was a small theater but it was almost full.
I'm still thinking about this movie a lot. I might have to see it again.

The first is the most undisputably true. Emma knocking it out of the park.BurtReynolds wrote:None of these things are true!Anders wrote:Marvelous acting by Emma Stone. Beautiful cinematography. Minority Report.
Good movie of course, but I've never been a big fan of this aesthetic Spielberg adopted in his late career. It's quite ugly.

Like Minority Report and what else?
The next movie he made was Catch Me If You Can which is a gorgeous and totally different looking movie. The one he made before was AI which is a movie I don't like for various reasons but also looks beautiful.
The Terminal isn't great but it looks fantastic too. War of the Worlds looks awesome and is full of cool and tricky shots. Munich also looks great.
Spielberg and Kaminski the dream team

(I don't really like how Minority Report looks but I don't think it's indicative of a general style he adopted)

Re: What movies are you watching?
Minority Report, AI, Bridge of Spies, War of the Worlds, Ready Player One...
All the same washed out, cool palettes, blurry look. Doesn't play to his strengths.
I think it shows up in some of the others as well.
