I didn't know anything about it going in other than it was a King story directed by Mike Flanagan starring Hiddleston.

It's so great. Well shot. Well paced. Stellar cast.Full of character and heart. It excels at all the same things the best King adaptations excel at. Sharp themes. Memorable scenes. Relatable and human while also being weird and elevated.

Flanagan really gets King. Like, in his bones.

There's also this awesome sort of meta component that I don't really want to get into because it might spoil stuff for people but it's really clever and heartwarming without being cloying or cringey. Flanagan does some stuff with the casting that mirrors a theme of the film and also plays into a broad theme of King's work overall.

Anyway, I just loved it. I wanted to watch it again immediately.

I've never seen either Accountant film but Rain Man is pretty far from what I imagined they would resemble

the accountant was a for lack of a better term who-dun-it movie with the lead investigator pulling double duty as an actual accountant and a contract killer. I do not know anyone with autism but i think it explains things very well what it is like to have autism.

where it comes into play ala rain man is the dynamic between he and his brother. at first there is an animosity there from his brothers perspective as his brother tries to explain it to chris and chris just shrugs it off because chris doesnt reallly show emotion. it goes from a serious mystery movie in the first to a serious mystery movie in the sequel and adds in some funny things for some levity in the middle of the movie. which may be true in real life but felt forced in this movie. think of seeing denzel washington in equalizer II breaking into a song and dance midway through the movie.

Sounds awesome. Flanagan really gets King yeah, specially at an emotional core, which you have to do it well with him. Really want to see this one, its Mike's first movie since Doctor Sleep.

Doctor Sleep was so much better than I expected it to be. I really liked it.

Kill Bill. There's some goofy stuff in there, but I still consider these to be masterpieces. Just so much fun.

i really liked it too. but the thing about paul rudd is, he kinda annoys me. I'm not sure, but i'm pretty sure he's been doing a ron burgundy impression ever since anchorman. but this is a good role for him cause he's kind of a phony douche
