If When the Fire Comes had been a Pearl Jam song instead of a Jeff Ament solo song, it would have been both the best song on this record and possible the best Pearl Jam song since Insignificance.

(I'm fairly certain I've said this multiple times, but oh well. I love that damn song, and there's no reason it shouldn't have been a Pearl Jam song...)

I'm guessing he had better stuff that didn't 'fit' with the rest of the album.

Or, perhaps he didn't like the taste of shit, so he opted out of licking B'OB's asshole.

I guess, if they're not firing Brendan, the best scenario would be that every member of their side projects (other than themselves) die in a fire.

Yeah but overall they feel a lot less clinical. I hate binaurals production and I feel it is as much of a distraction and detriment as LBs is if not worse.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

If that's true then the real question should be why do shitty songs seem to 'fit' on Pearl Jam records?

I really don't understand you people sometimes ;) But yeah, definitely less clinical.

Somebody help me out!! URGENT

Post by Bammer »

What is the difference between the fan club version of the Lightning Bolt CD, and the version I can buy at the store tomorrow?

Is it just digital content? Or what?

Thanks.

Yeah, it's pretty good, with a couple of caveats.

So after playing around with it for awhile, I think I have made the perfect Lightning Bolt tracklisting.

Here it goes.

1. Getaway
2. Mind Your Manners
3. My Father's Son
4. Sirens
5. Sleeping By Myself
6. Let The Records Play
7. Swallowed Whole
8. Yellow Moon
9. Lightning Bolt
10. Infallible
11. Pendulum

This tracklisting is magic for me. Yes, Future Days was taken off. Sorry it just breaks the flow anywhere I put it, and I'd rather not hear it at all.

I haven't quite figured out if to change up the beginning 3 songs, and the intro transition to Sirens to MFS is still jarring. But SBM after Sirens works beautifully for me. LTRP in the middle is a nice pick me up. And then the final run from SW to Infallible works fantastic. And then we get the chilling wonderful closer in Pendulum.

This way, the album doesn't end in a whimper, but instead it ends on a huge high note and is consistent and building throughout. I think this really works for me. What do you guys think? Feel free to shit on it.

They should just shut down their side projects, or Pearl Jam. I'd be alright with them going out on this one.

Future Days just doesn't jive with this album at all.
