Jaws 50th Anniversary theater showing. Only my second viewing. While I do enjoy it and recognize the achievements, I'm not as enamored with it as most. The big screen absolutely enhances the experience though.

Also Richard Dreyfuss is incredible.

I sobbed twice, it was much darker, sadder and funnier than I remembered; something I love about vintage Spielberg is that whatever the film is "leading" with (sci-fi, family, adventure, whatever), the film always has one foot in the door of horror, and this was no exception; the creature setup, the medical experimentation (where the trope of human abducted by aliens is reversed), the setting on Halloween, the theme of "nothing lasts forever"; it's quite brilliant really

yeah, and those films also have that feeling of danger i felt as a kid.

Kinda blown away by Bring Her Back. I think I liked it better than Weapons

It's a masterpiece. And has a lot of the same qualities that you pointed out about ET. I think it might be Spielberg's much gut wrenching film. I admittedly don't always respond to his work but ET and AI are my two favorites.

but i agree (OMFG) with Joe, its a great one.

Spielberg is my boy but I’ve never quite been able to join the AI gang. One of his weakest for me.

Minority Report is fucking badass.

I should watch Minority Report again. Haven't seen it since the original theatrical run.
