Seems like you’re sticking to a bit of a theme with these past couple movies tree

yeah, after that first one I was like, hmm, I've never actually seen Lolita and that's a Kubrick movie, I should probably give it a try

Bullit.

Yeah. So cool. Lalo Schifrin's soundtrack should be mandatory in schools. The airport scene is fucking wonderful.

Revisited An Officer and a Spy and Carnage over the last few days. Every time I come back to a Polanski movie, I have the same thought: he is simply the best to ever do it. Shot to shot, edit to edit, scene to scene - he’s just the best there’s ever been.

I think Spielberg is the greatest American director and Polanski is the greatest European director. And their styles reflect that difference in sensibility: Spielberg shots big, wide, and bright, while Polanski shoots tight, claustrophobic, and moody.

After flipping around a bit last night, I gave "Eddington" a 2nd watch.
I think liked it even more the 2nd time around.

finally watched "Weapons"

much better than "Barbarian", it juggles its different tones well; I made a bad decision to watch it during the day, so it didn't have as much atmosphere as I wanted, but I'm gonna watch it again before my rental is up; it won't be my favourite this year (that's still 28 Years Later), but it's up there

"Dream Scenario"

well-acted, well-shot, horrible subtext; blegh

Loved "Weapons".

It might be in the lightweight category when compared to other horror flicks, but it's just right for me.

 I'm sure there's a better term than "lightweight" that I missed; here's what I mean though:
Somehow at 46, I'm far less inclined to watch a barrage of jump-scares than when I was in my 20's.
I'll wet the bed with some of the hardcore horror/terror stuff that's been popping up.
Weapons (to me) is perfectly balanced in that regard, the jump-scares (which are not critical to the plot) are few and far between.
This movie is scary, creepy and very interesting. I feel it keeps your attention on the strength of the story and how it's being told, beautiful photography too.

Cobra.

George P. Cosmatos, what a master of his craft. The credit scene alone is wonderful. The movie is a mess, doesnt make that much sense and its a bit boring but Stallone is in his prime and its still compelling enough. Still, Sly´s script must be one of the worst he did, kinda funny it was supposed to be his Bevery Hills Cop.

K-Pop Demon Hunters

it was fun

one big giant trans metaphor!

it clearly takes place in the same universe as "Sinners"
