Yeah, I don't think there's anything to be read into the song descriptions (either stylistically speaking or quality-wise). You could probably describe the songs on most Pearl Jam albums exactly the same way. It'll just be a matter of if they do it well this time or not.cutuphalfdead wrote:I bet Sirens sucks. It'll be this album's Amongst The Waves or Unthought Known.
I guess it depends what qualifies.verb_to_trust wrote:What do we all consider as Pearl Jam's best 'really fast song'?
I'm pretty sure STBC is the fastest, so I guess I'd say that.verb_to_trust wrote:What do we all consider as Pearl Jam's best 'really fast song'?

Does Go qualify as really fast? Or is that just regular fast?verb_to_trust wrote:What do we all consider as Pearl Jam's best 'really fast song'?
He could quite easily sing in the style of Hail Hail nowadays. In fact I wish he would.harmless wrote:I just don't think he has the snarling tenor he used to have. I'm pretty sure we'll get an awkward screech. I hope not.
Na, it's not really punk fast. It's funky and aggressive but slower than the others in tempo.Lament wrote:Does Go qualify as really fast? Or is that just regular fast?verb_to_trust wrote:What do we all consider as Pearl Jam's best 'really fast song'?
I know what you mean. It's frustrating to listen to old songs in a range that Ed could sing in now, and yet he constantly eschews the firmest path.evenslow wrote:He could quite easily sing in the style of Hail Hail nowadays. Habit is really not that fast.harmless wrote:Na, it's not really punk fast. It's funky and aggressive but slower than the others in tempo.Lament wrote:Does Go qualify as really fast? Or is that just regular fast?verb_to_trust wrote:What do we all consider as Pearl Jam's best 'really fast song'?
Nor is Hail Hail.Heathen wrote:Habit is really not that fast.harmless wrote:Na, it's not really punk fast. It's quite a bit faster than 'Go'.Heathen wrote:Habit is really not that fast.harmless wrote:Na, it's not really punk fast. As far as tempo is concerned, it's not. And as far as the rest goes, the guitar riff and drum pattern make Go feel faster... To me anyway.harmless wrote:It's quite a bit faster than 'Go'.Heathen wrote:Habit is really not that fast.harmless wrote:Na, it's not really punk fast. Yes it is. It feels faster to you, as you say, because it's more aggressive. But tempo-wise Habit is definitely faster. This is a mistake that 'PJ' is almost certainly making. I'm not expecting a very fast song.Self wrote:As far as tempo is concerned, it's not. And as far as the rest goes, the guitar riff and drum pattern make Go feel faster... I just tapped them both out in Pro Tools. The tempo is almost identical.harmless wrote:Yes it is. It feels faster to you, as you say, because it's more aggressive.
